Annual Summer Dinner - Saturday 24th July

Members, their families and friends had a great night out at the club dinner held at Bristol Golf Club for the second year. A lovely relaxing night with family & friends starting with drinks on the terrace at 7.00pm proved a good opportunity for our newer members to get to know others of long-standing. The event was a big success and thanks go to our Social Secretary Lindsay for organising the evening.

Open Day - Sunday 27th June.

The day was a great success and for once we had the chance to entertain our guests in glorious weather. There was a big crowd for the free coaching in the morning with both children and adults making the most of the good conditions. A barbeque lunch followed and the courts continued to be in full use until that moment when everyone's minds turned to the England v Germany match and suddenly at 3.00pm everyone had gone - perhaps they wish they'd stayed for more tennis now! Certainly a successful day and thanks are due to the many members who turned up to help and welcome everyone to the club.

Wimbledon Ticket day - Saturday 27th March

Members who were lucky enough to get the chance to buy the show court tickets that were on offer in the club's annual draw are looking forward to their day out with great anticipation. There are a number of junior members amongst the winners, most of whom have never been to the Championships before and they are rightly getting excited by the prospect of seeing the stars on court. We hope everyone has a great day out and we look forward to seeing the photos

Open Day - Saturday 3rd April.

The first Open Day of the year was a great success with the courts full of both adults and juniors in the morning for the coaching sessions. The rain held off for just long enough for people to enjoy the barbeque and a few hardy souls played a few sets as the rain came over. We've welcomed some new members who found that their rusty rackets were capable of more than they'd anticipated. The beginners coaching groups have grown and at the other end of the spectrum we've found some new team players. Another Open Day is planned for later in the year

Social Play & BBQ Evenings:

Many Friday evenings during the summer members and guests enjoy a social game, followed by a BBQ by the club house. In the winter months the BBQ is put away and replaced by one of the local takeaways. This is very pleasant and relaxing way to start the weekend.

Other:

Skittles evenings in the Almondsbury Sports & Social Club makes an occasional change to tennis. Each Christmas members enjoy mulled wine and mince pies in the club house.  American suppers are another popular event and this year our social secretary is planning our first Halloween Party in the Social Club Bar.
