Almondsbury Tennis Club
Almondsbury Tennis Club welcomes members of all ages and abilities. Whether you are returning to the game after a break, a regular player or an absolute beginner, you will find like-minded people to play tennis with. Those wanting competitive play will find opportunities in the Men’s, Ladies and Junior Leagues and LTA Tournaments that are played at the club. Many members play the game purely as a social activity and will welcome others to join them both at sessions organised by the club and by groups of members. The club runs occasional social events, some tennis based, some not, that all members are welcome to take part in. There is an extensive coaching programme run by our head coach and his fully qualified coaching team. The club provides flexible membership packages to match your needs.
Playing Opportunities
Regular Monday evening session at 7.30pm The opportunity to play a game or two with other club members. There will be a doubles workshop with head coach John Kimani on two courts (or more if the demand is high) for an hour for players interested in improving their techniques and tactics from July 3rd 2010.
Tuesday evening mens' match practice from 7.30pm Any club member interested in playing in a team can come to these sessions and more information about the teams can be found on the Competitions page. New members are always welcome.
Wednesday Club Night from 7pm where everyone is welcome for some social games. Doubles takes precedence over singles when the courts are full and members are encouraged to mix and match so it's a good way of getting to know other members while enjoying a game.
Members have access to the courts and floodlights at all times and although booking is not always necessary, courts can be booked in advance at times when there are no club sessions, .
Special Events
Summer Dinner - Saturday 24th July
The annual Summer Dinner will be held at Bristol Golf Club and will include presentations to members in various categories, including Club Member of the Year and Player of the Year. A lovely relaxing night with family & friends starting with drinks on the terrace at 7.00pm.
Open Day - Sunday 27th June.
FREE TENNIS ALL DAY
Visit us from 10am when our coaching team will provide free coaching for all ages and abilities until midday. Then stay for a barbeque, play some friendly games in the afternoon and find out all you need to know about how to join and enjoy all the club has to offer. Discounted membership packages will be available in the morning. Everyone welcome.
Wimbledon Ticket day - Saturday 27th March
Club members are invited to come & take part in the annual draw for Wimbledon tickets. Only members who are also registered with the British Tennis membership scheme are entitled to tickets. Joining the BT scheme is easy & free to club members - just go online to www.LTA.org.uk and you can sign up in seconds.
